Description:

It is a part of the by-pass pipeline of Baku – the capital of Azerbaijan. The total length of the pipeline is 87.5km. The commissioning is done in June 2003.
Under a contract with “Tekfen”, Turkey „Gasstroymontaj” JSC carried out Automatic Welding Works of Apsheron Peninsula High Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline, Karadag – Digah Section, 40”, and 42.35 km.
The wall thickness is 19.1 mm (18,7 km) and 11.91 mm (23.6 km) and the steel grade is X65 that demands an obligatory warming up to 150φC at least, made with induction coils.
The pipe welding works are performed with an owned by „Gasstroymontaj” JSC CRC-Evans Automatic Spread, comprising IWM 40-42”, external welding machines, IPLC 40-42”, welding tractors CAT D4 and CAT D6 equipped with the relevant number Lincoln DC400 and 3 pipe-layers CAT589 (105 tones). The daily rate achieved in automatic welding works is up to 52 pcs of wall thickness 19.1 mm and up to 62 pcs of wall thickness 11.97 mm.
The weld wire used in the welding works is K-Nova (AWS 5.18/0.9mm ER 70S-6) of Böhler –Thyssen.
